The home for the aged was founded by the religious women, the Ladies of Charity (Damas de Caridad) and the Sisters of the Colegio de la Milagrosa to provide shelter and promote the general welfare of the aged who are poor, homeless and abandoned by their families and relatives. In the early fifties, this was situated in a borrowed house in Talisay, Sorsogon. This Home for the Aged thrived through the painstaking labours, donations and fund raising activities conducted by the Ladies of Charity.
However, through the initiative of Monsignor Arnulfo Arcilla who was able to secure a grant from a German philanthropist, a presentable Home for the Aged with a chapel and a clinic was built in San Juan, Sorsogon. He also succeeded in getting financial assistance from the PCSO. But with the death of Monsignor Arnulfo Arcilla it was stopped.
